For 17 years was program manager for Ford SVO and Ford Racing Technologies, including NASCAR program manager for Aerodynamic Development and Testing, Chassis Development and Engine Development, plus interfacing with all major sanctioning bodies. His ’67 N.C. State mechanical engineering degree was the genesis of a tuning business, which led to his mechanical management of the highly-successful Miller+Norburn BMW tuning business, with multiple wins in ’73-’75, including Nick Craw’s championships. Operated Preston Miller Rennsport (’79-’83) with contract to build and develop BMW 320i for IMSA GT competition. Remained active in development and distribution of racing parts through 2009. Managed Jim Miller Racing (’83). Was crew chief for Don Knowles in early •80s, including Nelson Ledges 24-Hour win.
