De Phillippi started his motorsport career at the local kart track in 1998 at age 5 and never looked back. He is the SKUSA SuperNationals record holder with four titles and is the only driver to date to win two classes overall in the same weekend. After his ten-year karting career, he made the transition to cars via the Mazda Road to Indy and the Skip Barber karting scholarship shootout. 2009 was a big year by winning the Skip Barber National series and a fully funded scholarship to drive in Star Mazda. After three years in Star Mazda and two vice-champion results, it was time for De Phillippi to move onto his next career move. 2013 he moved fully time to Germany and became the second American ever to be part of the Porsche Junior Program. Competing against the best in Porsche SuperCup and Carrera Cup, he began to make a name for himself. In 2016 he moved on to a factory supported Audi team in the ADAC GT Masters and VLN Nordschleife championship, where they went on to win both championships and he became the first American ADAC champion. 2017 he became the second ever American to win overall at the 24H Nürburgring. Since 2018, he has moved his career back to North America with BMW Team RLL as a factory driver in their IMSA works program and he continues to compete in a limited schedule for BMW at the Nürburgring. In four years they’ve won five races together, with the highlights being the GTLM class win at the 24H Daytona and two runner-up finishes at Sebring.
