Ed’s racing career spans fifty years and 500+ races- beginning with karting in Europe. He started and managed three of his own racing teams in the Netherlands. He drove five years (1965-1969) for the Abarth factory in the European FIA Touring Car Challenge, winning the Championship three times and also the two liter FIA Sports/Prototype Championship title in 1970. He won the Dutch National Touring Car Championship five times and finished second in the 1971 South African Springbok Series with a Chevron B19. He moved to the US in 1980 and was a Board Member of the vintage Auto Racing Association and spent two years as its President. In 1999 Ed started the Historic Racing organization (HSR-West) in California, which has grown over the last ten years to include 400+ active members and running 6-8 events each year. Ed is still actively racing in a variety of Historic cars, including a Formula One – Formula Two – Two liter FIA Sports Racer and Can-Am cars. He has been honored by the KNAC (Royal Dutch Automobile Club) for his contribution to the Dutch auto racing sport and served as Clerk of the Course for seven Dutch F1 Grand Prix races and all the National and International races at Zandvoort, the Netherlands.
