Highlights of racing career have been winning the 2003 Daytona 24-Hour race in LMP2, winning the 1998
U.S. Road Racing Championship driving for the factory BMW team, racing Indy cars and numerous
endurance races.

1979 & 1980: CASC BC Formula Ford Champion
1981-1985: Formula Atlantic
1986: Competed in 4 Trans-Am race
1987-1990: Won every Westwood & Portland endurance race in car he and his brother built
1990 – 1995: Competed on the CART IndyCar circuit, select races
1996-2008: Raced in IMSA, ALMS, Grand-Am, USRRC
1998: United States Road Racing Championship, GT3 Drivers Champion (drove for factory BMW team)
1998: 5 th Overall (1 st in North America), BMW International Motorsport Drivers Award
2003: Winner LMP2, Daytona 24-Hour Race
2003 – Present: Still competing in a variety of endurance races; won the 2019 Thunderhill 25-Hour race.

Driver Coach
Has instructed, coached, trained, or influenced the learning and development of hundreds of thousands of
high-performance and race drivers through his books, seminars, webinars, schools, and in-person
coaching.
Coaches drivers of all levels and types, all over the world. His Speed Secrets brand is the go-to for driver
development resources and services; Inner Speed Secrets is the “mental game” program developed for
drivers – conducted seminars throughout North America, in Australia, Sweden, Estonia, England.
Has coached Indy 500 winner, IMSA champions, NASCAR winners (William Byron, Bubba Wallace, Erik
Jones, Colin Braun), rally and rallycross champions, Superbike racers, Top Fuel Drag racers; coached in
North America, England, France, Germany, Belgium, Australia, China, South Korea.
Has instructed thousands of track day drivers and amateur racers, both at-track and online.
Through his role in performance/race driver training, Ross established the Motorsport Safety Foundation’s
HPDE Instructor Certification program, and is on the Board of the Foundation.
Has coached racers on simulators since 2003 and started the Speed Secrets Sim Racer Academy, a
membership-based program.
